About balloons, day tours, payment, cancellation and transfers.
Balloons
What time does the balloon flight start, and how long does it last?
Departure is planned for about 45 minutes before sunrise. Hotel pickup is about 75–90 minutes before departure, and the exact time is confirmed via WhatsApp the evening before. Time in the air is about 45–75 minutes depending on weather and wind (Standard about 60, Comfort and Deluxe about 75 minutes). Breakfast, a flight certificate and a non-alcoholic celebration drink are included.
What happens if the weather is bad and the balloon cannot fly?
The flight decision is made early in the morning based on wind and visibility measurements; this decision is not up to the agency. If the flight is cancelled due to weather, we move you to the next morning free of charge or you receive a full refund. That is why we recommend booking your balloon flight for one of the first mornings of your stay.
Is a balloon flight safe?
Flights are operated by licensed balloon companies; as an agency, we handle the booking and organisation. If the wind and visibility are not suitable, no flight takes place. Before take-off there is a short safety briefing and an explanation of the landing position. Our tours are covered by compulsory travel agency and passenger insurance. No air activity is zero-risk; following the rules and listening to the briefing is the most important safeguard.
Are there age limits or health restrictions for the balloon?
Children under 6 cannot fly. The balloon is not recommended for pregnant women or people with serious back or neck problems, as landings can sometimes be bumpy. Because getting into the basket requires climbing over the side, adults are expected to have a reasonable level of physical fitness. If you are unsure, write to us before booking and we will assess it together.
What should I wear on the morning of the balloon flight?
Mornings are cool; even in summer you may feel chilly at the launch site, while in the air you feel the heat of the burner. Wear three thin layers and closed, flat-soled shoes. Tie up long hair; sandals, high heels and loose shawls are not suitable. Once the sun rises, sunglasses and a thin hat come in handy.
What is the difference between the Standard, Comfort and Deluxe baskets?
The Standard basket holds 16–24 people and the flight lasts about 60 minutes. The Comfort basket holds 8–12 people and the flight lasts about 75 minutes; it is less crowded. The Deluxe (private) basket holds 2–8 people, lasts about 75 minutes and lets you fly with your own group. Durations are approximate and depend on weather and wind; all three include a certificate, a celebration drink and breakfast.
Day tours
How big are the groups on day tours, and which languages do guides speak?
Daily tours are run in minibuses of up to 14 people; guiding is available in Turkish, English, German and Russian, and groups are formed by language. Private tours have a maximum of 6 people per vehicle, and you choose the language. ATV and horse tours are run in small groups of up to 8 people, and jeep safaris in groups of up to 10.
What is the difference between the Red, Green and Blue tours?
The Red Tour is the northern route: stops such as Göreme Open Air Museum, Paşabağ, Devrent, Avanos and Uçhisar. The Green Tour heads south: the underground city, Ihlara Valley and Selime. The Blue Tour offers a quieter Cappadocia: places such as Mustafapaşa, Keşlik Monastery, Soğanlı and Sobesos. If you are visiting for the first time, the Red Tour is usually a good start; the exact stops are listed on the tour pages.
Are museum and underground city entrance fees included?
Yes. On the Red, Green, Blue and Private daily tours, museum and underground city entrance fees are included in the price; you do not buy separate tickets at the door. On the Red, Green and Blue tours, a set-menu lunch is also included in the price. If you have a Museum Pass, write it in the booking note.
Are the tours suitable for families with children?
You can join the daily tours with children. The Red Tour is easy for families with small children, with short walks and fairy chimneys. Underground cities contain low and narrow passages; this can be challenging for small or timid children. The minimum age for the balloon flight is 6. Child prices are listed on the tour pages; if you tell us the ages, we will recommend a suitable tour.
Can I arrange a private tour?
Yes. On a private daily tour there are at most 6 people per vehicle; you decide the route, pace, breaks and guide language. You can combine the stops of the Red and Green tours or visit only the places that interest you. Send us your request via the contact page or WhatsApp.
Payment and cancellation
Do I need to pay to make a booking?
No. No payment is taken when you make a booking request. Your request is usually confirmed within 1–2 hours, and at the latest within 24 hours. You pay on the day of the tour in cash (EUR, USD, TRY) or by card.
What are the free cancellation and refund terms?
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour time. If the balloon flight is cancelled due to weather or flight conditions, you are offered a free move to the next morning or a full refund. In case of cancellations by the agency, a full refund is given. No refund is given in case of no-show.
Can I change the date, time or number of people on my booking?
Yes, subject to availability. Request a change via WhatsApp or the contact page up to 24 hours before the tour time. If you switch to a different tour and there is a price difference, you will be informed in advance. The closer it gets, the harder it is to find places, so write to us as early as possible.
Which currencies and payment methods do you accept?
Prices are in Euros (€); you can select USD, TRY or GBP display on the site, and this display is for information only. You pay on the day of the tour, in cash (EUR, USD or TRY) or by card. No payment is taken at the time of booking.
Transfers
Which areas do you offer free hotel pick-up from?
Free pickup and drop-off for balloon flights, day tours, activities and Turkish night are provided from hotels in Göreme, Uçhisar, Çavuşin, Ortahisar, Ürgüp and Avanos. If your hotel is outside these areas, contact us via the contact page or WhatsApp and we will find the best solution together.
How will I know my pick-up time?
Once your booking is confirmed, your pickup time is sent to you via WhatsApp the evening before. For early-morning tours such as the balloon flight, the time is set according to departure. If you have any questions, our WhatsApp line is open 24/7.
Can you arrange airport transfers, and what about luggage?
Transfers for Nevşehir Kapadokya (NAV) and Kayseri Erkilet (ASR) airports are arranged as a separate service. When booking, write your flight number, landing time, and number of people and bags; a suitable vehicle is allocated accordingly. You can write to us for price and vehicle information. If you are checking out of your hotel and joining a tour the same day, talk to your hotel in advance about your luggage.
General
When is the best time of year to visit Cappadocia?
Every season has its own beauty. If you are visiting for the first time, May–June and September–October are a balanced choice. Winter offers snowy landscapes and a quieter region. July and August are hot and busy. Balloon flights run all year round but depend on weather conditions, so we recommend booking your balloon flight for the first mornings of your stay.
Are your tours insured?
Our tours are covered by mandatory travel agency and passenger insurance. This does not replace your personal health or travel insurance; especially if you are coming from abroad, we recommend that you take out your own health insurance.
